Rebuilding Nicole Builds Tech

For a while, my website was trying to be too many things at once.
Part portfolio. Part resume. Part job-search landing page. Part consulting site.
And eventually, it stopped feeling like me.
So I decided to rebuild it around a much simpler idea: Nicole Builds Tech is a consultancy.
The work I love most sits at the intersection of systems, process, product, automation, and customer experience. I like complicated problems. I like figuring out why something is harder than it should be, and I like making it easier for the people who actually have to live with the solution.
That became the focus of the new site.
Instead of listing every tool I’ve used or every job I’ve had, I wanted the site to answer a few much more useful questions:
What kinds of problems do I help solve?
What do I actually do?
What does that work look like in practice?
And what kind of impact can it have?
The redesign also gave me a chance to rethink the visual identity. I built the palette around the colors of a total solar eclipse, which has become a pretty meaningful theme for me. The darker sky tones, warm horizon colors, and eclipse imagery all feel much more aligned with the kind of brand I wanted to create: thoughtful, capable, a little unexpected, and not another generic tech consultancy.
I also built a lot of the site differently this time. Rather than relying entirely on standard templates, I created custom components for key sections so I could control the experience on both desktop and mobile.
The result feels much closer to what I actually want Nicole Builds Tech to be.
A place where someone can show up with a messy problem and say:
“This is not working. Can you help me figure it out?”
That’s the work I want to do.
